How does SEA Music distribute my music?

Once you upload your audio files and artwork, our system performs an automated quality check to ensure your release meets store guidelines. We then securely deliver your assets to over 100 digital service providers (DSPs), including Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, Amazon, TikTok, and more.

When do I get paid?

Like all major distributors, SEA Music operates on a standard accounting delay dictated by the DSPs. Streaming platforms typically report and pay out royalties 45 to 60 days after the end of the month in which the streams occurred. Once we receive the funds, they are immediately credited to your SEA Music dashboard, and you can withdraw them via bank transfer or PayPal once you hit the $50 minimum threshold.

Do I need my own ISRC and UPC codes?

No. If you don't already have ISRC (International Standard Recording Code) and UPC (Universal Product Code) identifiers for your releases, SEA Music will automatically generate and assign them to your tracks entirely for free during the upload process.

Can I distribute cover songs?

Yes, but you are strictly responsible for obtaining the necessary mechanical licenses to distribute a cover song legally. You must secure a mechanical license (via services like Easy Song Licensing or Harry Fox Agency) before uploading a cover to SEA Music. Uploading uncleared covers, remixes, or beats containing uncleared samples violates our Terms and may result in immediate account termination.

What is your policy on Artificial Streaming?

SEA Music has a zero-tolerance policy for artificial streaming (also known as streaming fraud, bot streams, or payola). DSPs like Spotify and Apple Music actively monitor for artificial activity. If your tracks are flagged by stores for fraudulent streams, they may be removed, and stores may withhold your royalties. Engaging in artificial streaming will result in an immediate permanent ban from the SEA Music platform.

Who owns the rights to my music?

You do. SEA Music does not take any ownership of your copyrights, master recordings, or publishing rights. We simply act as your digital distributor. You retain 100% ownership and creative control of your music at all times.
